Born at Hopkinton, Iowa 12/16/33 Joined Air Force in June 1952. Control Tower Operator at Harlingen AFB, Texas, Hahn AFB and Spangdahlem AFB, Germany. Began CAA/FAA career at Omaha, NE Tower and Rapcon, 1956. Married Joan Klassen at Staceyville, IA, 1957. AT NAFEC as ATCS, 1963-66 ATCS at Jacksonville, FL, 1966-70 DSS at Atlanta Hartsfield, 1970-72 Data Systems Officer at Jacksonville, FL 1972-74 Procedures Specialist, Great Lakes RO, 1974-76 Operations Specialist, Great Lakes RO 1976-78 Chief, Terminal Operations Section, Great Lakes RO, 1978-1980 Chief, Airspace and Procedures Branch, Great Lakes RO 1980-1984 Manager, Plans and Programs Branch, Great Lakes RO, 1984-86 Ass't Div Manager for Planning and Requirements, Great Lakes RO, 1986-88 Retired on Dec. 31, 1988. A year later went back to Work as a Chief Systems Engineer for Diversified International Sciences Corp at Hampton, VA. Then back to the Chicago Area three years later and after a couple more years off, I went back to the RO as a contractor supporting the new O'Hare Tower/Elgin Tracon project. Retired to Arkansas on Nov. 1, 1996. Built a new house on a golf course where Joan and I are trying very hard to learn the game. I'm still consulting on a couple of projects back in the Hampton, Langley area whenever they call. | |
