I was born in Denison Iowa on 1/29/1934. I proceeded through grade and high school in the Denison and Vail Iowa area. Graduated from high school in 1952. I enlisted in the USAF in July 1953 and left the service in July 1957. I had basic training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio and then went to Keesler AFB in Biloxi Miss for ground radio operator school, graduating in May 1954. I was reassigned to Biggs AFB at El Paso Texas until July 1955 when I was transferred to K-6 in Korea until June 1956. I spent the remainder of my enlistment at Larson AFB at Moses Lake, WA. In November 1957 I was hired by the CAA to be an enroute air traffic controller at Detroit Center.
Detroit was closed and I transferred to Chicago Center here in Aurora, IL from September 1963 until my retirement on December 29, 1984. I have lived at my current address since September 1964.
I spend my time taking care of lawn, garden and, once in awhile, I paint the house and garage. My wife, Rose Marie and I have 8 grandkids so there are times that we are quite busy overseeing some of them.
