Popular Science - March 1947 -Who's Who in the sky

Of the four airlines still in existence:

United merged with Capital and half of Pan American

American bought TWA

Northwest's acquisitions are not pictured - (North Central)

Delta merged with Chicago & Southern, Northeast, and Western, and bought half of Pan American

National was bought by Pan American

Braniff and Eastern went bankrupt.
