I am having some progress on the SDM front. Dr Kraus (FAA Historian) is helping, but finding little in DC. Paul McAfee has provided some memories and I have found some data on the San Diego City, Brown Field archives, including a picture of that old tower. The PSA historical site has also given me some facts, but I need a few more from them, and have an inquiry into their historian. I was amazed that they had a committee formed to preserve the old memories of their airline. But, I could use more. Wanted: information on the early operation of Brown Tower, San Diego. This was an historic episode in the history of ATC for several reasons. many of them firsts for the agency. I hope to get the information together and do an article for the Airway Pioneer about this remarkable event. If anyone reading this can contribute information prior to and during the period 1971-72, please email jimdor56@cox.net. Jim Brown (no relation to the airport of the same name)
