Regarding Roy Johnston's Forum Item dated 7/14/09 - " A Question on Flying" Sometime around 1977 (I have the flight plan somewhere) I flew through the 'Sound Barrier" in an F-111 (Mach 1.2). I didn't see the curvature of the earth since we were only 150' above the Nevada desert.
