Yes I can confirm that because I was there with a Washington contingent led by Charlie Carmody that joined with some Western Region folks. Your dad was one of them. We toured the Great State of Alaska for about a week in N5, a trusty and very reliable DC-3. I have the plaque given to me at that time for crossing the Arctic Circle. Spots we touched in addition to Anchorage area, were Palmer FSS, Kotzebue, Nome, Fairbanks, and a AF VOR site with 6 houses in the wilderness, their TV reception was by cloud reflection. Brought them food and supplies. The total party was about 10 folks including the pilot. Your dad flew co-pilot part of the time.
